Cupar’s Takeaway Treats
When it comes to takeaways, Cupar has it all.
Looking for some of the finest fish and chips? Check out The Central Cafe on Crossgate (right next to the town centre’s bus stop) … or walk up Bonnygate to Libo’s Fish & Chips. Both offer a full takeaway menu with so much for that fish and chips … and at The Central Cafe, you’ll also find The Fish Tail where you can order fresh fish and seafood to cook at home.
Nourish on Crossgate is something different: they offer a variety of choice for breakfast, brunch & lunch – as well as smoothies, snacks and sweet treats.
Pizzas, kebabs and more can be found at Caspian Fast Food (at the bottom of Ladywynd) and at Dino Pizza & Takeaway on Bonnygate. On the same street is Two an a Coo – renowned for its ‘Deliver Coo’ moped that is seen buzzing around the town – delivering sandwiches, wraps, rolls, baguettes and more including freshly brewed coffee made with beans supplied by Myrtle Coffee. For lovers of steak-bakes and subs, the town has the national favourites – Greggs and Subway.
We have covered the Indian takeaways (above). Cupar also has three Chinese – Mystic Dragon, New Century Chinese Restaurant and The City Garden Chinese Takeway. Looking for something more spicy? Try Kuku’s Peri Peri Grill & Takeaway.
And don’t forget, many of the businesses covered under the town’s cafes, coffee shops, tea rooms, bistros and restaurants also offer takeaway services!
Community
Cupar is a 21st century market town with community at its heart. More than 90 community groups, clubs, societies and associations help to support the town with events, activities and projects throughout the year. A number of these are active in the food & drink sector …
- Cupar Youth Cafe is a young person focused venue delivering an extensive youth work programme of activities to local young people, including their Grub Hub project that provides after-school drop-in support.
- Cupar’s Food Bank operates with the mantra that “we don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry“. As well as the 3-day emergency food parcels, toiletries and cleaning materials, they also offer all kinds of advice. They work closely with many local businesses and organisations who support them in their day to day work.
- Cupar’s Community Fridge was launched to help reduce waste in the local community. Open Tuesdays 1100-1200, it enables businesses and individuals to waste less through the sharing of good quality food that’s within its ‘use by’ dates. You can find it at County Buildings, St Catherine Street, Cupar, KY15 4TA. For more, please contact Katy Bald for further information.
